National Museum of Wildlife Art Twelfth Annual Western Visions Miniature Show and Sale
On Friday, September 17, 1999, the National Museum of Wildlife Art
will host its Twelfth Annual Western Visions Miniature Show and Sale. Featuring
works 9"x 12" or smaller by over 100 of the country's leading
wildlife and western artists, this busy and popular event has become the
museum's most significant fundraiser in support of its art conservation
efforts. 
Featured artists this year include Robert Bateman, Ken Carlson, Scott Christensen, Guy Cohleach, Michael Coleman, Donna Howell-Sickles, Bob Kuhn, Lanford Monroe, Sherry Salari Sander, Sandy Scott, Tucker Smith and many more.
This year's event includes many new activities for the
art enthusiast. Sculptor Sandy Scott will be offering a three-day workshop
beginning Monday, September 13 through Wednesday, September 15. Limited-to
15 students. Also beginning Monday will be jewelry making demonstrations
in the Museum Shop. Conducted by artisans Dawn Wain, Pamela Levin and Brooke
Stone, these demonstrations are free and will be offered 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.
through Friday.
Friday evening: September 17, marks the date of the Miniature
Show and Sale. Beginning al
5:30 p.m., guests may examine the artworks on display
in the Museum's Wapiti Gallery and begin bidding. Bidders complete a form
for each piece they are interested in purchasing and put in a sealed bid
box. Prices for the artworks have been set by the artists. Ridding will
continue until 7:00 p.m. At 7:30 the blind drawing begins and takes about
one hour. Throughout the evening, excellent food and drink are served. Participants
are encouraged to pre-register, but may also register at the door.
