New 63,000 square foot Utah Museum of Fine Arts to open to the public in the summer of 2000

The Marcia and John Price Building for the Utah Museum of Fine Arts is going up fast, with construction underway on the second floor of the building. The new 63,000 square foot museum will be twice the size of the current art museum. The facility will feature a central grand gallery, a 300-seat auditorium, café, museum store, education center, sculpture court, and a group of changing and permanent exhibition galleries.

The new building is scheduled to be completed by November of 1999. The new Utah Museum of Fine Arts will be open to the public in the summer of 2000.
