Visitors of the National Academy Museum this spring and summer will be the first to see a major touring exhibition of paintings by California Impressionists. The exhibition is organized by the Irvine Museum of Irvine, California, in conjunction with the National Academy Museum, New York. The works are drawn from the celebrated collection of The Irvine Museum, Irvine CA, which is the world's most extensive repository of such work.
This important exhibition is also the first major showing of California Impressionism at an East Coast museum. Opening in New York on May 6 and running through July 5, 1998, AIl Things Bright and Beautiful: California Impressionist Paintings from the Irvine Museum travels on to four other North American venues.
