Dr. Bonnie G. Kelm Appointed Director of the University Art Museum, University of California at Santa Barbara
The University of
California, Santa Barbara recently announced the appointment of accomplished
museum administrator and arts educator Dr. Bonnie G. Kelm as director of
the University Art Museum, effective August 1, 2002. Ms. Kelm previously
served as the Director of the Muscarelle Museum of Art and Associate Professor
of Art and Art History at The College of William & Mary in Williamsburg,
Virginia. From 
1988 to 1996
she served the Director of the Miami University Art Museum and the McGuffey
Museum in Oxford, Ohio, as well as an Associate Professor of Art at Miami
University. Dr. Kelm is presently on the Board of Directors of the U.S.
National Committee of the International Council of Museums (AAM/ICOM) and
the Board of Directors of the Association of College and University Museums
and Galleries. Active in the American Association of Museums, she has served
on the National Program committee and the Accreditation Commission's visiting

With the addition of Ms. Kelm as University Art Museum Director the University community of administrators and staff along with the staff of the University Art Museum look forward to continued growth and excellence in our Museum's exhibitions, collections and programming.
University Art Museum is located on the campus of the University of California at Santa Barbara. The Museum develops and implements a full program designed to make the visual arts accessible to its University and public constituencies; the Museum has earned an international reputation over the past 30 years for its creative exhibition program and its excellent publications. The exhibition program covers a wide range of historical periods including contemporary art, and the Museum endeavors to provide a program that is culturally diverse, scholarly, innovative, and when necessary, controversial.
