Representing LA

December 9, 2000 - February 11, 2001

"Representing LA" is an exhibition that explores the varied trends and aspects of representational painting, drawing, printmaking, and sculpture produced by Southern California artists in the 1990s. Guest Curator Gordon L. Fuglie, Director of Laband Art Gallery at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California, has selected nearly 80 works by 65 painters and sculptors demonstrating a rich diversity of styles spanning the past decade. Everything from figuration and realism, to fantasy and narrative art are included. This exhibition is organized by the Frye Art Museum, Seattle, in cooperation with the Laband Art Gallery.
