Representing LA
December 9, 2000 - February 11, 2001
"Representing LA" is an exhibition that explores the varied
trends and aspects of representational painting, drawing, printmaking, and
sculpture produced by Southern California artists in the 1990s. Guest Curator
Gordon L. Fuglie, Director of Laband Art Gallery at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California, has selected nearly 80 works by 65
painters and sculptors demonstrating a rich diversity of styles spanning
the past decade. Everything from figuration and realism, to fantasy and
narrative art are included. This exhibition is organized by the Frye Art
Museum, Seattle, in cooperation with the Laband Art Gallery. (left:
