Marguerite Lyons: Every Day Wonders

Mission San Juan Capistrano will present an exhibition of watercolors, "Every Day Wonders," by noted artist Marguerite Lyons April 15 - May 28, 2000 in the Barracks Gallery. (left: Marguerite Lyons, Untitled.)

Lyons has received numerous awards for her work, including being named Best in Watercolor at the Beverly Hills Affaire in the Gardens, Associate Show of American Academy of Women Artists and Central Coast Watercolor Society Membership Show.

The Rutland Herald of Vermont (where she lived for 20 years before returning to her native California) wrote of Lyons, "this artist revels in technical challenges and refuses to be satisfied with anything less than the most ingenious composition. Add a wonderfully intuitive sense of transactions between colors ... and the stage is set for drama."

During her career, Lyons has also been a newspaper reporter and columnist, professional photographer and owner of a retail business.
