Something Old, Something New, Something
Borrowed, Something Blue
Beginning on September 7, 1999 the
Main Gallery of the Providence Art Club will host a one person exhibit of
photography by Donald E. Creamer, and it will continue until September 24,
1999.
Mr. Creamer has described the show in the following manner:
"Some old (i.e. part retrospective), some 
new (photography never before exhibited), some borrowed
(a couple from his daughter), and some blue (i.e. lots of skies)."
Mr. Creamer's work has been featured in a number of exhibits at a variety
of galleries, and is widely recognized for its graphic style and unusual
images. He has been featured several times at the Providence Art Club, of
which he is an artist member, as well as at the Roger Williams Park Museum
of Natural History, of which Mr. Creamer is President of the Board of Trustees
and which has a gallery named in his honor. (left: cover of announcement

He is well known as a national and international advertising/public
relations executive. A few years ago the Providence Sunday Journal Bulletin
stated: "Every profession has its own superstars - those exceptionally
talented people who succeed in an exceptional sort of way. In the world
of advertising and communications, Rhode Island's Donald E. Creamer fits
that bill very well."
Born in South Providence, he graduated from Cranston High
School, from which he enlisted in the United States Navy where he advanced
to the rank of lieutenant. He graduated from Brown University, worked briefly
for a small Providence advertising agency and then founded Creamer, Trowbridge
& Case in Providence. Subsequently he merged this company with one in
New York City. Twenty years later the agency, which by then was one of the
top ten in the world, was billing over $500,000,000. Don decided it was
time to sell the agency, explore new opportunities, and spend more time
in his native Rhode Island. He continues to consult in matters pertaining
to marketing communications and investment opportunities.
