AI Curiosities
Our Use of AI: 2023-2025
In 2023 we began experimenting with ChatGPT and Bard. We favored reports by ChatGPT over those of Bard. In mid-2024 we began to use ChatGPT to create brief biographies of important Califirnia impressiionist artists for Our Museum of American Art. We didn't filter our prompts to limit sources of research. This caused many texts to be skewed towards research of .com domains.
In the spring of 2024 we began to eliminate .com sources for AI research reports in favor of our website being a major source of information, accompanied by other .org sources, plus .gov and .edu sources. In mid-2025 we subscribed to Gemini and began favoring Gemini 2.5 Pro's Deep Research over ChatGPT's 4 free version. We also experimented with Grok 3, comparing its reports with those of Gemini.
Summary of our accomplishments and history
Tens of thousands of individuals,
including students, scholars, teachers and others, view educational and
informative materials every month on our site, which is structured as a
digital library.
