Project A: online encyclopedia external links with "article" and "not solely"notations

This research and posting project is only for individuals closely familiar with, and experienced in, online encyclopedia postings and its style guidelines. The project is intended to help online encyclopedia users reference further sources of information concerning historic American artists. Project payment should be considered a stipend, not payment for a generic UpWork job.

Freelancers who are passionate about freely educating people worldwide about American culture through its visual arts are invited to submit project offers.

The project is being funded and administered by an anonymous TFAO Volunteer (volunteer).

Steps:

1. A TFAO Volunteer (volunteer) will identify artist names from the America's Distinguished Artists catalog (DAS) for study and processing.

2.  Volunteer will place into UpWork escrow $63USD needed to complete the project's goal.

3. Before entering into a contract with an UpWork freelancer, she or he will demonstrate to volunteer the ability to identify enough information in Resource Library articles so the articles are worthy of posting in the "External Links" section of online encyclopedia pages. A minimum of four examples will be submitted by the freelancer as a part of his or her proposal.

4. A contracted UpWork freelancer (freelancer) will start with the DAS page Haa-Haz. Freelancer will post a new and accurate online encyclopedia outbound external link for every artist on that DAS page and subsequent pages that specifically include the word "article "in the notation, such as "from Resource Library article (not solely dedicated to this artist)" until freelancer has posted outbound external inks in Wikipedia pages for 100 artists. The Resource Library title of the article will be folowed by "in Resource Library" as the named source. Only DAS notations with the phrase "not solely" will be researched and posted.. No DAS artists with the notation including the word "essay" or "biography" will be researched and posted. The ending phrase "from Wikipedia" is also not acceptable.

Only one exernal link per DAS article will be posted. If the freelancer believes that the online encyclopedia style sheet calls for another form of citation, freelancer and volunteer will discuss and agree on an alternate citation.

Example: The DAS article title for John Hafen is: "Utah Impressions: Selections from the collection of Diane & Sam Stewart" All new external links will have their source identified as: "in Resource Library." An example of an online encyclopedia outbound external link is: "Engaging with Nature: American and Native American Artists (A.D. 1200-2004)" in Resource Library.

5, If there is no external link section on the online encyclopedia page, freelancer will create one to accomodate the new external link.

6. Feelancer will post an external link only if no online encyclopedia link to a tfaoi.org or tfaoi.com page is already cited anywhere in the corresponding online encyclopedia page about the artist.

8..Freelancer will continue processing eligible DAS names until the number of external links intended for the project is reached.

9. At the completion of the project, freelancer will send to TFAO's volunteer the name of the artist for each new external link posted and the amount of USD funds sought for the project's escrowed funds. Volunteer will confirm the accuracy of the postings and then authorize payment of the funds for all new correctly stated external links posted to online encyclopedia pages for those artists that match DAS artists' names.

10. The project has a payment at completion of 100 new and accurate online encyclopedia external links posted x $0.63 per link = $63.  The project has an estimated completion date of 60 days from commencement of the project. This date will be private between the volunteer and freelancer - if allowed by UpWork - and not reported to UpWork in the contract.

11. If the number of new and accurate online encyclopedia external links cited in the estimated project completion date is not reached by then, the freelancer will be paid, subject to UpWork rules, for such links actually posted to the online encyclopedia and the project will be canceled by volunteer with UpWork and a partial payment paid for such number of new and accurate online encyclopedia external links posted by freelancer. The payment rate per new and accurate Wikipedia external link will be reduced to $0.57.  At the same time, the remainder of volunteer's funds in escrow with UpWork will be refunded to volunteer.

Note: $0.63 = 63 cents USD.

Project B: online encyclopedia external links with "not" notation

Traditional Fine Arts Organization (TAFO), a non-commercial, non-profit organization, is the publisher of Resource Library, a collection of articles and essays honoring the American experience through its art Resource Library is the most visited online resource devoted to American representational art.

This research and posting project is only for individuals closely familiar with, and experienced in, online encyclopedia postings and style guidelines.

Steps:

1. A TFAO Volunteer will identify artist names from the America's Distinguished Artists (DAS) catalog for study and processing.

2.  Volunteer will place into UpWork escrow $50 needed to complete the milestone's goal.

3. Freelancer will start with the DAS page Caa-Caz. Freelancer will post an external oiutbound link on a corresponding online encyclopedia page for every DAS artist on that page and subsequent pages that has a qualified name match until freelancer has posted outbound external links on online encyclopedia pages for 80 DAS artists. Another is "from Resource Library article (not solely dedicated to this artist)" Each eligible DAS artist citation will have the word "not" in the citation.. All new online encyclopedia external links will have the source identified as Resource Library. An example of a online encyclopedia outbound external link is: "L.A. RAW: Abject Expressionism in Los Angeles 1945-1980, From Rico Lebrun to Paul McCarthy" in Resource Library. The ending phrase "from Wikipedia" is not acceptable. Only one exernal link per DAS article will be posted. If the freelancer believes that the online encyclopedia style sheet calls for another form of citation, freelancer and volunteer will discuss and agree on an alternate citation.

4, If there is no external link section on an online encyclopedia page, freelancer will create one to accomodate the new external link.

5. Feelancer will post an external link only if no online encyclopedia link to a tfaoi.org or tfaoi.com page is already cited anywhere in the corresponding online encyclopedia page about the artist.

6. Freelancer will continue processing elibible DAS names until the number of external links sought for the milestone is reached.

7. At the completion of this milestone, freelancer will send to TFAO's volunteer the name of the artist for each new online encyclopedia external link posted and the amount of USD funds sought for the milestone's escrowed funds. Volunteer will confirm the accuracy of the postings and then authorize payment of the funds for all new external links posted to online encyclopedia pages for those artists that match DAS artists' names.

8. If the number of external links included in the milestone completion date timetable is not reached, the freelancer will be paid for the links actually posted to Wikipedia.

10. The project has a payment at completion of 80 new and accurate online encyclopedia external links posted x $0.63 per link = $50.

Note

Percent of DAS artist names that have previously stated online encyclopedia links

TFAO became curious about the number of DAS artists that have previously stated* online encyclopedia references. As a test, a volunteer chose the letter C. The test indicated that the percent of Das letter C artists that have previously stated online encyclopedia references is roughly 33%. The above percent is only an estimate; it may be inaccurate.

There are 26 letters in the alphabet. If the 33% number is roughly true for one letter, and if 111 is roughly the average number of artists for every letter in the alphabet, the number of DAS artists in total may be roughly 2,886. This may indicate that the total DAS artists with previously stated online encyclopedia references is roughly 950.

Calculations with previously stated online encyclopedia references:

Caa
Total artists 76
references 25

Cea
Total artists 55
references 13

Cia
Total artists 30
references 7

Coa
Total artists 53
references 18

Coo
Total artists 57
references 26

Cra
Total artists 63
Wikipedia references 22

Total artists = 334
references =  111

DAS artists with previously stated online encyclopedia references = 33%

* A previously stated reference is defined as an online encyclopedia reference being seen for an individual artist on a page for the DAS letter C on 12/10/22.
