"Paintings 99" by Ronald Sloan

"Paintings 99" by Ronald Sloan will be on exhibit in the ART-X Gallery at the Stamford Museum & Nature Center from September 13 - October 15, 1999. The hours for this gallery only are Monday to Friday 10:00 am. - 4:00 p.m

One of the three winners of the museum's competition "New Art Annual 99" in March, Sloan will be showing his 1999 works. He offers a fresh wit and lush surfaces to his expressionistic figurative paintings - all with a sense of the macabre.

Sloan has taught art for twenty-three years and has exhibited in a number of one-person shows as well as group and juried exhibitions. His work is in such permanent collections as the University of Potsdam, New York; Provincetown Museum, Cape Cod, Massachusetts; Chase Manhattan Bank, New York City; G. E. Corporation, Connecticut; The Mattatuck Museum, Waterbury, Connecticut; City Savings Bank, Pittsfield, Massachusetts; and Northwestern Community College in Winsted Connecticut.

Sloan has an M.F.A. from the University of Kentucky, an M.A. in Studio Art from SUNY Albany, and an M.A. in Art Education from Central State University, Oklahoma.
