The National Oil and Acrylic Painters' Society (NOAPS), headquartered in Osage Beach, MO, held its annual art show, EXHIBIT '97 from October through November, 1997 to wide acclaim from art critics and the public alike. This was the seventh year for the annual exhibition which has experienced exceptional growth in both quality and recognition from artists around the world. Frank J. Sisser, Editor, U.S. ART magazine, Minneapolis, MN and the EXHIBIT '95 Awards Judge, called the annual art show, "one of the best kept secrets in today's art world."

For EXHIBIT '97, 225 artists from 39 states, Canada and Japan entered more than 600 paintings for recognition by a professional jury panel. The panel chose 77 paintings, representing the work of 61 artists for the show. Awards Judge Marlene Perchinske, Director Museum of Art and Archaeology, University of Missouri, Columbia, MO presented special cash awards totaling more than $5000.
