Lorraine S. Capparell: Five Women

The Triton Museum of Art will present the work of Pale Alto artist Lorraine S. Capparell from June 29 through July 29, 1999. The exhibition, Lorraine S. Capparell: Five Women, includes five life-size bronze figures. Each of the figures represent different aspects of the feminine psyche: sensual (Erato), receptive (Yin), spiritual (Tree of Life), creative (Yang) and awareness (Observer). The intent of the exhibition is to celebrate and enhance a strong, positive view of the feminine psyche as a vehicle for transformation and enlightenment.

Lorraine Capparell has been creating large-scale bronze figures for over 10 years and has exhibited widely throughout Northern California. She studied clothing and textiles at Cornell University and sculpture at San Francisco State University.

An opening reception for the artist of Five Women is scheduled for Tuesday, June 29, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m

The Triton Museum of Art is located at 1505 Warburton Avenue in Santa Clara, California. Museum hours are Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday through Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission and parking are free.
